This past week was a big one for Elder Heninger, he worked 4 days of hard labour--of course I mean physical labour. He worked with a team of men from England who were volunteers and of course our own Elder and Sora Wolsey who is head of all Humanitarian work in Romania. They built a drying shed to dry clothes year round at a hospital in Colonia. The last one they had collapsed in the harsh winter last year, as you can see from the pictures that won't happen again. They built this one to last.
Our missionaries were a great help and they worked really hard.
This is the picture of all the super volunteers. These people are wonderful people who have come every year for 16 years to improve the condition of the hospital.
All finished and Fabulous !!!!
We travelled across Romania last weekend to the very west side of the country to Oradea. This area has a huge Hungarian influence and it showed in many of their buildings in Centru. It was great to be able to visit another city and meet the district president and support and love him.
We love all the senior couples that we work with. They all have so much to offer and we learn so much from them.
Here's
Elder Heninger after eating a little lunch at the outdoor restaurant in Oradea. He's always this happy after he eats.
I wanted to get some pictures of the beautiful country side, but some of the shots are blurry. I love there hay stacks.
This is taken at 60 km.--I'm lucky I got it all.
On our way back we stopped in Sibiu, for training and to go to church. It was wonderful testimony meeting and even though the numbers are small, the spirit of the Lord is present. It is also a lovely city.
It is easy to see the buildings that have been restored and those that have not.
Here are some amazing missionaries!!
We feel so blessed to be able to see so much of this country. We love the people and the gospel.
Great post! And I love your new photo at the top of your blog! You are wearing yourselves out in the service of the Lord! We are so happy that you have this opportunity to serve these sweet people who live so far away from your "home and native land." We are sure your Canada Day was spent in service. Love you!
ReplyDeleteI love reading this!! Thank you for keeping it up. I'm excited every time to see the buildings and the unique things you two do. What an amazing life you lead. What a great example to all of us. We love you so much!
